The UBA COVID Protocol Team met on March 1st to review pandemic data, congregational feedback, and discuss adjustments to our current safety protocols. The mission of this team is to hold the high watch for all our congregants, especially those with underlying health conditions, and those who have contact with vulnerable individuals. We hear the concerns of those who are frustrated by these temporary limitations, and thank everyone in our community for your understanding and patience as we work to keep everyone in our community as safe as possible.

The following adjustments to our protocols have been made, effective immediately:

Masking is still required in the UBA facility, with the exception of those presenting during services and activities.

UBA small groups are welcome to meet in-person again while following all the COVID protocols.

It is now permissible to serve food at events and activities, and following Sunday services. Participants may remove masks while eating and drinking, and replace masks as soon as they are finished. To coin a phrase, please “separate the eating from the meeting” to ensure the safety and comfort of all.

The UBA COVID Protocol Team will meet again at the beginning of April, and it is our hope to make significant steps toward normalizing at that time. We thank everyone for holding Unity of Bon Air in prayer, and actively visioning a time soon when we can gather together with ease and without limitations. Please affirm with us - we are grateful, we are grateful, we are grateful!

Febraury 10th, 2021

Our UBA Board re-opening committee met on Feb. 2, 2021 to discuss the possibility of opening our Sunday 11am service to in person again with masks and social distancing. While we are hopeful that positivity rates are going down, we have decided to wait and assess in a month after we observe the new strains of the virus, the impact of schools opening and the increased availability of the vaccine.

Our utmost priority is that everyone remain healthy. We know and understand the emotional stress being apart for so long, AND we will appreciate each other all the more when we come back together.

Currently recommended is wearing 2 masks and a shield for protection against the newer more contagious strains.

Our current policy remains that all who enter the building at any time, wear a mask and social distance unless you are speaking or singing on the platform. Being vaccinated or having already contracted covid is no exception to this policy.

We appreciate your cooperation and your continued support of UBA in the many ways you bless with your sacred service, on-line attendance of services and classes and financial contributions. We love you and we bless you!

Unity of Bon Air Board

February 7th, 2021

Dear Unity of Bon Air Community.

“I am thoughtful with all my words and actions.”  This is the affirmation from the February 6th Daily Word, a Unity publication.  In the text it reads, “I open my mind and heart to share understanding and love.  I release any need to justify a position and instead choose to be a better listener.  I remain mindful that we each have value and deserve to be heard.”

Our country is experiencing a time of public discord. Frustration and pent-up anger are being expressed through public comments of divisiveness, through mass demonstrations, and through private statements.  This has been fueled by hundreds of years of controlled, planned, and subtly taught and programed messages in the general population. In addition, the polarization of today’s politics, unemployment, and a year-long exasperation with covid-19 has contributed to this frustration.

In today’s world, quick communication devoid of context, creates an unfortunate challenge of assuming what a person’s intent and understanding is from a brief sentence, phrase, meme, or symbol. This is ripe ground for misunderstanding, miscommunication, and a breakdown of true discussion. The resulting destruction which has happened as an outgrowth of a spring and summer of demonstrations, has become a focus of distraction from the issues truly at hand. Some might only see the destruction rather than the resulting conversations of substance; the need for transformation and for movement towards change, redress, and/or reform.

Perspective is always individual and subject to one’s life experiences, self-examination, and personal insight.  Certainly, we at Unity of Bon Air want to be clear as to what we stand for and strong in our commitment to it.  We need to realize we are each responsible for what we say publicly and on digital platforms as representatives of our community at large. We encourage everyone to be mindful and responsible in the precious use of our freedom of speech.  As is stated in our mission statement, our goal is to “Live and express unconditional Love and acceptance”.  Anything short of that is not worthy of our attention, energy, thought or expression.

Peace and love

Your Unity of Bon Air Board, Trustees, and Ministry Team

January 15, 2021

Dear Friends,

As the events in our nation unfold, Unity of Bon Air is affirming light and love, seeing the highest good unfolding for you and yours, for our nation, and for all people. The Unity movement was founded on prayer, and we stand in that tradition as we send these prayer offerings:

In the darkest of outward appearances, I turn to the light of God within. I remember I am light. In the face of fear and hatred, I remember I am the expression of Divine Love. In the deepest sorrow and pain, I allow Divine Life to flow into my life and my affairs and into the life and affairs of others as loving-kindness. I claim the Power of God is working its good now. I am Power. I use my powers of faith, imagination and strength to look beyond appearances and lift up the consciousness of humanity into Peace and Harmony. All that needs to be healed is healed.

In the consciousness of Divine Nature, we are all connected, like brilliant strands of silk in the interwoven web of the living breathing Universe. Through this inherent connection, our thoughts and energy affect the whole, and each and every one of us has the capacity to expand the Love consciousness and raise the quality of experience for us all. When I have moments of feeling overwhelmed, I lean into this sacred supportive web, knowing that Divine Love is there to lift me up. When I witness others in distress, I send my thoughts and prayers as lifelines for those in need. I hold the high watch, seeing Goodness in all circumstances with the eyes of faith, joyfully serving as the hands and heart of Goodness in all situations, and I AM grateful.

We each are endowed with amazing powers, the Christ in each of us.  We claim that our powers of faith and love are a radiant energy that lifts all people up.  With our power of imagination we envision this radiance wrapped around each and every person.  No one is left out.  We pour our love out to all and affirm that each person everywhere feels safe, feels loved, and feels that they matter.  Each person is happy, healthy, and peaceful.  Each person moves through each day in harmony and we all live together in peace and love.  Together we can transform our country and our world.  And we are grateful.

With Love & Blessings,

The Unity of Bon Air Ministry Team

Dear Unity of Bon Air Community

It has hurt my heart to see what took place in Washington D.C. on January 6th and all the circumstances leading up to it. Unity has taught me to consciously choose to use the power of faith in Spirit and not in appearances. I acknowledge my human vulnerability and I pause for Divine Understanding and Divine Wisdom. Then I ask the questions “who am I here to be?” and “what is mine to do?”  I find my peace by pausing to center myself first and then helping others find their peace.

If you are wondering, like I did, how to respond, I invite you to use some of Unity’s resources.

You may CLICK HERE to enter Silent Unity’s virtual prayer room, any time;

you may also feel free to call Silent Unity at 816-969-2000;

call your Unity of Bon Air prayer chaplain;

or call the Unity of Bon Air prayer line, and leave a message at 804-320-5580 ext. 6.

Please join all of Unity with this prayer from Vice-President of Unity Prayer Ministry, Rev. Linda Martella- Whitsett:

In this moment of civil unrest, we call ourselves to God-consciousness. We speak the word for harmony. We speak the word for order. We recognize no person, situation, or force greater than the power of God, the source of our ability to lead from a place of peace with strength, wisdom, and courage right now.”

Dear Congregation:

The Board of Unity of Bon Air is proud to announce the appointment of Susan Green as our Transitional Coordinator to assist the Church during Rev. Laura’s transition and upon her release from her ministerial duties with the Church.  Susan, exhibiting the positive spirituality of Unity, has not only accepted this position, but has done so as a volunteer.

In the capacity of Transitional Coordinator, one of Susan’s duties will encompass maintaining the administrative aspect of the Ministry.  In this regard she will work with the Staff in a team and collaborative atmosphere to not only insure that the Church is operating efficiently but to bring forth new and creative ideas to enhance the Church’s outreach to our membership and the community at large.

Further as Transitional Coordinator, Susan will work with the staff to plan sermons and to arrange for speakers to engage the congregation during Sunday services.  Sunday services will be revitalized with the talent from our membership and will represent an affirmation of our growth.

Ultimately, Susan will focus on re-uniting our family through the various outreach programs that our Church possesses.  However, to achieve this revitalization, Unity will need your help—the help of your involvement and engagement as we seek to infuse our church with new life and vitality.

We love you and we appreciate all the things that you have done and will continue to do.

               With much appreciation.

July 20, 2020

Dear Unity:

Please allow this correspondence to reach you as we hold up our congregation with love and prayer during these uncertain times. When life provides you with uncertainty, it is always best to remember those “things that are always true”.   The things that are “always true” are the constants in our life, such as family, our faith, and our loving spiritual community of Unity of Bon Air.

We are reaching out to you to celebrate a multiplicity of events.  First, we experienced the joy-filled “Re-Opening,” and celebration of Christmas in July, at our 11 a.m. Sunday Service, and 5 p.m. Spiritual Gathering on July 19th.  Both our Sunday Services will continue as a hybrid of an in person and online experience so long as Virginia remains at Phases 2 or 3 of its re-opening.  The upcoming “Miracles of August” theme for these Services during the month of August will move us through the challenges of today in ways of healing, prosperity, and the spiritual unity that is found in our rich diversity.  On August 22 we have the AHHH-MAZING event of “Unity Under the Stars” with Food Trucks and a Concert, creating a summer evening of fun for people of all ages.  These happenings, along with Unity Foundations, Metaphysics 2, and other classes and events that support us in our spiritual growth, will lift our spirits and fill our hearts.  All in person activities will engage the safety protocols required for individual and community well-being.

On Sunday, August 2nd at 1 pm, shortly after our service, we will be hosting a congregational meeting to discuss upcoming events and the vision for Unity of Bon Air during these uncertain times.  It is our hope that you attend this meeting either in person or by way of Zoom in order that we can address the direction of our Church and the needs of our congregation.

Re-Opening Starts Sunday, July 19th

Dear Friend,

It is time!  With the guidance of Spirit, and in cooperation with what is happening in our world, many in our leadership have been hard at work, and I am excited to share this news with you!

As of July 19th, we are embarking on Step One of our re-opening for Unity of Bon Air.  This includes the Sunday Morning Service at 11 am and the Sunday Evening Spiritual Practice Gathering.  It also will include Outdoor Group Activities and weekly Office Hours.  This opening will depend upon the continued status of the Commonwealth of Virginia being at Phase 2 or 3 in dealing with the coronavirus outbreak.  (See  Should we regress to Phase 1 or return to closing the Commonwealth, the ministry will go back to being online full time once again.

It has been a long time and many of us are missing the physical company of others.  I honor and appreciate your courage and strength in moving through these times of challenge, and in supporting your Unity family from your home.  Your prayers, phone calls, offerings, and participation on Facebook and Zoom have made possible the continuance of our ministry activities.  Thank you!

We also ask for your patience and loving endurance to help us keep safety protocols in place so we, and the Commonwealth of Virginia, can stay open and healthy.

We request that you read the information below before coming to any of our open times or events.  Here are some things you need to know about our re-opening

Sunday Morning Service

·        To start, there will be one Service on Sunday Morning at 11 am.  It will take place both in person and on Facebook Livestream.

·        Seating will be limited according to social distancing and as such the early attendees will be seated first.

o   A written “Reservation Confirmation” will be provided for the following Sunday should we fill to capacity and you have to return home.

·        Safety Guidelines will be posted and available throughout the facility.

·        Outside the Front Door will be Table #1 where temperatures will be taken with touchless thermometers before entering the building and questions for confirmation of your state of health will be posted nearby.

·        We will enter through the front doors of the church and exit through the back doors of the Sanctuary.  Arrows will be on the floors to help guide your way.

o   The Youth and Family Hallway, as well as the Main Office area, will be closed.

o   Ushers and Greeters will be available to open any closed doors.

·        Masks will be worn at all times – no exceptions. We recommend bringing your own clean mask.

o   At Table #2 inside the building, disposable masks will be available for those who forget, or do not have a mask.

o   At Table #3 decorator masks handmade, cleaned, and donated by special volunteers will be available for both adults and children for a suggested love offering of $10.

·        Hands will be kept clean.  Hands free handwashing is available in the restrooms and Hand Sanitizing Stations will be in the hallway.

·        Chairs in the Sanctuary will be placed at least six feet apart and set back at a safe distance from the front platform for the service presenters to remove their masks while singing or speaking.

o   Please sit together only with family members or those who share your home.  Extra chairs in the back of the church will be available for this.

·        Restrooms in the main hallway can be used by one person at a time.  We request you take a moment to clean after your use of the stall, urinal, and/or sink.  Supplies will be provided.  If this is difficult for you, let one of our volunteers know.

Sunday Evening Spiritual Practice Gathering

·        This will also be held at our facilities in the Sanctuary, as well as on Zoom.

·        The specific time of the “Gathering” may change for the summer and is yet to be determined.  We will keep you informed.

·        Protocols regarding temperature, health questions, masks, hand sanitizing, distance seating, and restrooms will be the same as at the 11 am service.

Group Activities Outdoors

·        All activities will take place only as weather permits.  Check the Community Updates page on our website at, or the posted signs at the facilities for any changes if there is inclement weather.

·        Safety Guidelines will be posted and available in usable areas outdoors.

·        Masks and Hand Sanitizing will be self-provided and required before participation in any outdoor activity.

·        Seating will be at a safe distance of at least six feet from those with whom you are not sharing a home, or who are outside of your family.  It is recommended for you to bring your own lawn chair due to the limited capacity for outdoor seating.

·        Starting July 22nd, we are holding our Wednesday Noon Prayer Gathering followed by a “Bring Your Own Bag” lunch.  Keeping safe distance, we will meet at the fountain area and decide where we want to go from there, depending on seating and comfort.

·        Other outdoor activities will be posted once they are planned.

Office Hours

·        The Ministry Office will be open 10 am to 2 pm Monday through Friday, beginning July 20th.

·        All Safety protocols mentioned above will be maintained.

·        No more than five people at a time will be allowed into the Main Office area.

·        The Bookstore will be open for purchases using forms and envelopes for payments as instructed by office personnel.

Even though these activities will look quite different from what they used to be, we know that the joy of our being together will bless us with healing love and the vital energy needed to live with all of the changes in our world.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon.

With Great Love and Abundant Blessings!  Rev. Laura

This morning, June 19th, on our Facebook Live Daily Prayer Connection the question was asked, “When will you re-open the church?”  Here is a response based on the Facebook comments.

The best we know at this point is that we will re-open some time in the next 4 to 6 weeks.  Right now, our target date is August 2nd, but that may change.  Watch for a date to be posted again soon in our Community Updates on the website.

Our Re-Opening Committee is meeting again Monday evening to organize the teams, guidelines, and measures necessary for a safe re-opening.  We will post an update next week after the meeting.  Our re-opening will depend on what is happening in our world with the pandemic, the federal and local guidelines based on the medical expertise and statistics, and our readiness to assure safety as much as we possibly can.

Thank you for hanging in there with us.  We look forward to our continued connection via the internet, and especially to when we can come together in person again!

With Love and God’s Blessings!

Dear Friends,

The desire to re-open as soon as we can was examined this past week.  The Staff and Board have been adding extra meetings since March to address the current pandemic and how to best keep our ministry vital and our members connected.  This letter is the first of what will be weekly or bi-weekly updates on our progress.  Most of which will likely be brief and informative.

After a long discussion at last week’s Board meeting, the Board and Ministers of Unity of Bon Air decided to form an Opening Committee, the purpose of which is to discern and execute what is needed for the safe re-opening of our building and grounds to congregational services and activities.

When will we open?

·        A tentative date of August 2nd was agreed upon for the renewal of onsite Sunday Services, with the following conditions:

o   An earlier opening once all of our safety measures are in place and there is strong evidence of a significant slowing of the pandemic.

o   A later opening if there is a significant and threatening escalation in the pandemic.

·        Outdoor gatherings, programs, and activities may happen sooner, and other indoor gatherings, programs, and activities may happen later.

What was considered in this discussion?

·        The results of the recent Survey regarding our re-opening and the needs of our members and groups. CLICK HERE to view the full survey results.

·        The guidelines from the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the scientific community, regarding opening with all safety precautions in place.

·        Networking shares and recommendations from around our Unity movement and region.

·        The continued growth and development of our online services and other alternative forms of ministry.

·        The renewal and expansion of safe activities that support our Care Team and Community Outreach efforts.

·        The availability of our Gardens and Promenade for safe outdoor activity for each of us and our community.

·        The desire to have more time for greater health supplies and measures to be made available.

·        The desire to see how the re-opening throughout the area, commonwealth, and country is doing in relationship to the lessening effects of the pandemic.

·        The effect all of this has on our individual and ministry finances – both short and long term.

·        The effect all of this has on each of us, spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

·        Our readiness to open with everything in place for the optimal safety of our congregants.

What will it take to be ready?  Among other things, this includes the following:

·        Health and Safety Guidelines posted throughout the building and grounds for congregants and visitors.

·        Trained Volunteers to Greet, Usher, and help keep the occupied areas of the building safe and clean.

·        Supplies of Hand Sanitizer, Soap, Paper Towels, Toilet Paper, Gloves, and Regulation Standard Facemasks made available

·        The flow of traffic and open doors in the church building.

·        The number and arrangement of chairs and/or tables for any service or meeting.

·        The deep cleaning necessary in any space after any activity.

·        A schedule of steps, or stages, of opening that includes:

o   Outdoor Activities for Small Groups

o   Open Office Hours

o   Sunday Services

o   Other Special Services and Activities

o   Team Meetings

o   Classes

o   Groups

o   Youth and Family Ministry Activities

o   Weddings and Memorials

With all of this said, there are sure to be things of which none of us have yet thought.  The nature of what we are encountering here is uncertain and unpredictable.  What is certain is our faith that all things are working together for good, and that our lives and our world are – and will be – a better place.  What is predictable is the love and care we have for each other, and the generous nature of what we share to keep us all going in these challenging times.

I thank you with all of my heart for being part of this spiritual community.  I think of you always with prayers and healing love!

Yours in Spirit and Life!

Opening Anew from Reverend Laura

Many of you have been asking with regards to recent news and government announcements, “When will we be opening again?”  This is to let you know that we, the Ministers, Staff, and Board of Unity of Bon Air are currently working on a plan that will include health and safety guidelines, as well as your input from our recent Reopening Survey.  While our goal has been to start by opening our 11 am Sunday Services to a reduced attendance of congregants wearing masks and keeping a safe distance by June 7th, this date may change.  We will open when we have the supplies, written guidelines, and volunteers available and in place to do so in a way that honors the health of all who attend.  In the meantime, our ministry is in full swing online and we welcome your participation and thank you for the gifts and offerings that make all of this possible.

This is to let you know that our church will be closed at least through May 31st, and for as long as our state government tells us to stay home and not to congregate in groups of more than 10 people.

In May the members of our ministry will stay connected in several ways including sacred, business, and social activities online that bring us together in spiritual practice and community – as well as help us in supporting our friends and families in the greater Richmond area.  Please read through our weekly eNews, and check our Events Calendar and Community Updates.

In the meantime, be compassionate and caring with yourself and those you love, and enjoy the glorious springtime beauty of nature!  The Ministers, Staff, Board, and Prayer Chaplains of Unity of Bon Air continue to hold you and your loved ones in prayer.  We see you surrounded by the protecting light and filled with the healing love of God.

Peace and Joy!  Rev. Laura

UPDATE – April 15th Congregational Meeting

The April 15th Congregational meeting was held by Zoom and the Unity of Bon Air Board is pleased to report the congregation approved two action steps which will assist the ministry during this COVID-19 crisis.   The congregation voted to allow Unity of Bon Air to apply for a $100,000 line of credit to be used in case of emergency and also voted to accept a Small Business Administration Payroll Protection Plan Loan which was approved by the bank on April 14th.  This loan if used as stipulated in the guidelines will be forgiven and not have to be paid back. It is considered a Grant.  YEA GOD.! Thanks to all of the members who supported these recommendations

In alignment with the Spirit of God, our Divine Source of abundant ideas and infinite good, we are grateful to everyone on the Finance Committee and Board for the excellent work in creating a Budget that honors the rich resources of everyone’s contributions and uses them wisely to serve in the present and build a wonderful future.

In moving our ministry forward, we have been working to manage costs for the coming year, and continue to do so in the awareness that the Covid-19 outbreak has shifted our way of doing ministry.  Here are some of the actions we have done or are doing.

·        Reviewing existing contracts for our facility and utilities and making reductions where we can.  For example, we have discontinued Lawn Care and are doing that with volunteers.  We are getting competitive bids on other maintenance contracts as they come up for renewal as well.

·        Looking at utilities contracts and services and reducing costs where we can.  For example, we are looking at reducing the number of phone lines to what is more efficient and less costly.

·        Reviewing and altering Staff positions and hours to work in closer alignment with our current cash flow, while at the same time providing services necessary for the spiritual well-being of the people we serve, and the greater connection of our community.  This has included eliminating the Office Manager position and morphing the necessary duties into other staff and volunteer positions.  Also, we have temporarily reduced the Facility Manager hours and put the Office Assistant on furlough while the facilities are closed.

In addition, other Staff and volunteers are working well above and beyond their paid hours or normal duties to create new forms of connection and ministry, and to keep us going in this time of healing and closure. These evolving forms of ministry include, but are not limited to the following:

Facebook Livestream

·        11 am Sunday Services

·        8 am Daily Prayers with Rev. Laura

·        Wednesday Noon Meditation

·        Other Special Events and Services that have been, and continue to be on our calendar.

·        Sunday Fellowship following the 11 am Service

·        Weekly Groups and Classes, including Unity credit courses with Rev. Valorie or Cheryl Fare

·        Fund Raising Dinners (in May and June) for Community Outreach

·        Team and Group Meetings for planning and development of current and future services and events.

Prayer and Counseling

·        Quick Response Prayer Chaplain Services via voicemail on the church phone

·        Counseling Services of Revs. Laura or Valorie via email or voicemail request.

April 10, 2020

Dear Unity Family;

The Unity of Bon Air Board of Directors sincerely pray that you and your loved ones are safe and well. Hopefully you have been able to stay connected with us by watching our live streaming Sunday Services and also by taking advantage of classes being offered via Zoom.  Rev. Laura, Board members, and our Trustees are beginning to call our members to say hello and continue to seek ways for us to stay connected. If you have a prayer chaplain, we know you are getting their prayers and support as well.

We find ourselves in a unique time in history for our church and for people everywhere.  We, as your Minister, Board, and Trustees, have the responsibility to be stewards of not only your continued health, spiritual growth and healing, but to protect and preserve the church grounds, building, programs, and ministries.  We want to perpetuate the survival of what we have created and built over the years.  We have a strong and vibrant community which will survive, thrive, and see the God/Good that will come from this.

With this in mind we are looking to the future and with your continued love, support, and prayers, we see a bright future for Unity of Bon Air. We are also cognizant of the reality that our bills, like yours, continue to come in and need to be paid.  We are exploring and implementing ways to reduce our cost and expenses by reviewing all contracts as well as by reducing staff hours.

In order to continue the growth of our ministry and to be proactive in case this crisis lingers on into the summer the Board is recommending we acquire a line of credit. We think it prudent to acquire a line of credit in the amount of $100,000. We have financial reserves but without the continued ability to hold services and classes in person, to grow our membership, we need to be prepared to maintain this wonderful community, our facilities, programs, and staff.  The line of credit funds will not be used unless absolutely needed.  Every expense will be reviewed and approved by the Board if the line of credit is to be utilized.

Unity of Bon Air bylaws state that any financial transaction over $25,000 is to be shared with the membership and must have a vote of approval.  As a first step, we are asking for you to join us in a virtual meeting to discuss this proposed action and to answer your questions.  This meeting will be held Wednesday, April 15th 2020 starting at 7:00pm by way of Zoom. However, you can sign onto Zoom as early as 6:30 to make sure you can get connected.

Below is the information you need to join the meeting.  There are several options.  Using your laptop or tablet, use the link to join.  If you have never used Zoom, plan to link as early as 6:30 p.m. to insure you can.   When you link you may get messages about downloading or launching Zoom.  Please allow or click yes.  Once that process concludes you will be placed in the meeting.  Be sure you have your audio/speakers turned on so that you can hear.

You will also see below options to use your mobile device or simply call in from your telephone.   There is a dial in number below.  You do not need to dial this unless you are only able to join by telephone

Please know that If you don’t have the ability to access Zoom and you would like to ask questions and/or vote on this proposal, call to speak to the Board President, Howard Green at 804-305-3999 by April 15th.

Your participation is important and we appreciate your loving support of our Unity of Bon Air community. We recognize and know God as our Source, while taking practical steps to be good stewards.

Holy Week, Healing Week

From:  Rev. Laura Barrett Bennett

“For this perishable body must put on imperishability, and this mortal body must put on immortality.”

(1 Corinthians 15:53).”

Holy Week is an amazing and auspicious time!  It is amazing because it is filled with reminders that life is so much more than physical existence.  It is auspicious because through its prayerful reflections and activities, it teaches us to remember that we are one with all that life is and has to offer.

As I write about this special time of year in 2020, the human race is moving through the life cycles of a virus that is sweeping our world and taking with it the physical existence of many whom we love, whether we are closely related, or namelessly connected through our shared humanity.  The heart feels tender in its remembrance or concern for people dear to us.  In that tenderness, we find a deep and abiding grace that assures us that love is present and life is eternal.

In his book, Keep A True Lent, Charles Fillmore wrote the following:  “The first step in the realization of life is always to know that God is life, abundant, omnipresent, eternal, and the second step is to make connection with God-life by declaring oneness with it.”  Holy Week is our journey to this realization and declaration.  It is a journey of healing.

You are invited on this journey at any point in time from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday as we move through each day, united in Spirit and sharing the path that heals us in mind and body through the realization of who and what we really are.  Following are the stepping-stones of each day’s events that lead to this great awakening.

Great news for fans of Unity of Bon Air who are not Facebook users:

Recordings of the Sunday livestream videos will now be posted to the Unity of Bon Air YouTube channel!!

Because it takes some time for the videos to be archived on Facebook, and uploaded to YouTube, look for videos to be available by around mid-day on Mondays.

March 17, 2020

The following information is now displayed on the front door of the Unity of Bon Air facility:

Thank you for coming.  Please read the following:

Coronavirus timeline, March 16 through April 1

New guidelines for next 15 days

The US Federal government announced a series of guidelines for all Americans to follow over the next 15 days:

  • Avoid gatherings of more than 10 people
  • Avoid discretionary travel like shopping trips and social visits
  • Avoid bars and restaurants and food courts -- instead use drive through, pickup and delivery options
  • Do not visit aged care facilities
  • If you work in healthcare, pharmaceutical or food supply, "you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule"
  • If someone in your house has tested positive, the entire household should stay home
  • Older people and those with underlying health conditions should stay home

In cooperation with keeping our population as healthy as possible, Unity of Bon Air is closing this building to gatherings of more than 10 people for the next 15 days.

We will be livestreaming our 11 am Sunday Service each week, and we recommend your group observes alternative ways to get together by phone conference, zoom, or another electronic connection.  We will open again as soon as possible for your important group meeting.  In the meantime, we hold every person enfolded in healing light of Divine Love!

With God’s Blessings!  Rev. Laura

March 16, 2020

Welcome to this week at Unity of Bon Air as we celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, the beginning of Spring, and discover a whole new normal by which we can not only live, but thrive in the light and love of Spirit!

Thank you all for your wonderful prayers and support for our work at Unity of Bon Air in these unusually challenging times.  I feel each one of you in my heart and envision the beautiful and shining being of light that you are!  Be patient and love yourself through all of your feelings and experiences.  Know with me that we are strengthening our connections with God, with each other, and with the spiritual principles that heal our minds and bodies, expand our growth and prosperity, and deepen our inner peace.

First – we must do what we need to do to move through these weeks.  Following this week’s Board Meeting on Wednesday evening, I will be posting updates regarding our upcoming church schedule and plans for keeping ourselves and our spiritual community healthy and strong.  These will include a nine-week prayer vigil, and staying in alignment with CDC recommendations.

In the meantime, please see this week’s handout from the Sunday talk and focus on the affirmations under “Revelation of Faith”.  I also invite you to join me each day in a moment, or more, of prayer - holding yourself, your family, our Unity of Bon Air community, our greater community, and our world, in the light of Divine Love.

Today’s Daily Word for Monday, March 16th, says “Rooted in Community, I grow and evolve.”  Let us grow and evolve together by knowing the following Truth from this week’s affirmations:

“We are renewed in mind and body by the healing light of Divine Love.”

With Great Love and Divine Blessings!

Rev. Laura

We hold in prayer all of those whose health or peace of mind has been affected by this virus.  We dwell in the heart of the Infinite from which flows the healing light of Divine Love, and we know the Truth of the following affirmation for each individual:

I am renewed in mind, heart, and body by the healing light of Divine Love.

And so it is!

March 13, 2020

In response to the current international health crisis, we will be having a congregational meeting this Sunday, March 15th, after church at 12:45 p.m.  If you have concerns about the vulnerability or current symptoms of your state of health, please stay home and know our love and healing prayers are with you.  If not, we urge you to be with us after the service for sharing our prayers, our concerns, the actions currently being taken by our ministry, and any ideas you may have for what we can do as a community for our individual and collective health and well-being.  Highlights from the meeting will be sent out next week.
