from Reverend Laura Barrett Bennett
Summer is winding down and we are ready to move into a new season of change. Oh my – not more change! It would seem as though the past six months have brought nothing but change: change in what we wear, where we work, how we interact, and what the prominent forms of communication and connection can be in our world. It is as though we have been caught up in an unending whirlwind of upheaval in our daily routines and uncertainty in our future. What can we do?
We can remember one simple Truth – we are not alone. Even when navigating through rough and unknown territory, there is a Presence with us. It is a Presence of guiding wisdom, empowering peace, and assuring love. Whatever name we give it, it is always there, waiting for us to become still enough to feel it both within and all around us. And we can know one more thing. We can be that Presence for each other. When wisdom shows up in how we see each other, peace in how we speak to each other, and love in what we do for one another, we become the assurance for others that they are not alone.
“And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20)
