from Rev. Laura Barrett Bennett
This is the month of resurrection. Along with the resurrection of Jesus, we celebrate death passing over the Hebrew households at the time of the Exodus. We also witness new life blooming all around us in nature.
The idea of resurrection is that life is eternal and will always find a way to overcome death and renew itself. Many of us have experienced the death of someone, or something, close to us. We miss the physical presence and familiar experience that brings comfort to our daily living. In the tenderness of this experience, we can also recognize that life has a way of renewing itself. As we remember that love is ever-present we can seek out ways through which it is currently found in our lives. In this way, we overcome death by finding new pathways through which to give and receive love.
