A Course in Miracles - Open Study Group

Meeting weekly on Mondays • 7:30pm to 9:00pm on ZOOM

This group meets weekly to study the book, A Course in Miracles (also referred to as ACIM or the Course). A Course in Miracles was written as a collaborative venture between Helen Schucman and William Thetford and is a self-study curriculum of spiritual transformation. Schucman believed that an "inner voice", which she identified as Jesus, guided her writing. Today there are study groups around the world.

ACIM CE-TEXT Study Group

with Janie Van Ostern

Our focus will be on studying the Course using the Complete and Annotated Edition of A Course in Miracles and in the context of being faithful to what the Course says.

This is a guided journey through the Text (Volume 1) of ACIM CE.  Following a 5-day a week reading schedule, it takes 18 months to complete a study of the Text (Chapters 1 – 31.)  Our at-home reading schedule includes the 33 Cameos found in the CE which help bring the Course to life with practical stories of everyday life from Helen’s notes.  These Cameos are an aid to students, and include quotes from Ken Wapnick’s Absence of Felicity and Robert Perry’s writings.

Students are strongly encouraged to read the material ahead of time.  While it’s not mandatory, it will be vital to your own learning experience and ability to contribute to the weekly group discussion. Daily work with the Course is a bedrock part of its path and will give you far more than once-a-week attention to the book can give.

The 5-day a week suggested reading schedule (2 – 3pgs/day) is provided upon registration.  Currently there is no fee for this Study Group, though donations to Unity of Bon Air are joyfully received.

Our study group will meet weekly starting February 25 and includes presentation of major themes from the week’s reading, group discussion, and an exercise in spiritual practice.  Thursdays, 9:30 – 11AM EST.
