Try to Remember from Reverend Laura
There is an old song with the lyrics, “Try to remember the kind of September when life was slow and oh so mellow.” It calls you to reflect on a time when life was filled with ease and grace, and your dreams of the future were imbued with optimism. Yet, how mellow can you be in challenging times?
When you realize that your experience of life does not depend on outer circumstances, but on your inner state of mind, then you can find ease and grace any time. You can slow down for a moment to breathe and to feel God’s life moving through you. This brings ease. Then, you can remember that you have unlimited potential to bring forth the best in all things because God lives in you. This awakens grace. The kind of September you seek is now.
“Be still and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)”
