Truth is within ourselves; it takes no rise
From outward things, whate'er you may believe.
There is an inmost center in us all,
Where truth abides in fulness; …and to know,
Rather consists in opening out a way
Whence the imprisoned splendor may escape,
Than in effecting entry for a light
Supposed to be without.
--Robert Browning
Unity’s wonderful teaching that the Divine dwells within is not new. Jesus was teaching this 2000 years ago. It is above in a poem penned in the 1800’s. For me, the questions are, am I tuned into this Source of wisdom and love? Am I paying attention to my true identity? Am I listening to the Power Within or all the voices of EGO (Edging God Out) that are seeking to control and manipulate?
I will be speaking this Sunday about staying grounded in the One. There is One Presence, One Power, One Truth and One Love. Let’s consider together the utter joy and clarity that arises as we come from our deepest Truth.
Until then, I invite you to quietly enter the inner chamber within the soul, shut the door to the external thoughts of daily life, and allow conscious union with God. It can happen in prayer time, in nature when we are stunned by beauty, in a precious moment with a loved one, or as we feel the embrace of the sun. This is the highest form of prayer we know. As we become still, the light within flows in our consciousness and all around us. We become the radiant ones, embodying the space where love dwells and is experienced. How does it get any better than this?
Much love,
Rev. Patty
