President
Amy has a 45+ years in local government with experience in social work, executive leadership, policy writing, program implementation, budget and finance, training and staff development and risk management.
Vice President
Janet has over 30 years of experience working with individuals and families with substance use disorders, including the many co-occurring mental health disorders that are usually present. She worked as a therapist, supervisor (both clinical and administrative) and program manager for a local public program. She has attended Unity churches in Richmond for 30 years. She has volunteered for years in the Youth and Family Ministry, fellowship coffee, hospitality, and special events. Since retirement, she has also served on UCBA Board, Love in Action Board, Youth and Family Ministry, Cares team and, best of all, become a grandmother to two boys.
Secretary
Born and raiseed in Ohio, Kathy moved to Richmond in 1993.  She has been a member of Unity Church of Bon Air since 2022 and joins the board with a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in Education Psychology and experience in database marketing and team leadership.  She has also supported UCBA's small group ministry and is also involved with the Cares Team.  As a Pisces, she loves long walks on the beach and water aerobics. Her golf game also includes inordinate time fishing balls out of the water.
Treasurer
After 25 years of working in the home warranty industry, Myra retired in March of 2020. She is the proud mother of two wonderful sons and the Nano of two awesome grandsons. Myra has served previously on the Board and in many other capacities, and has attended Unity of Bon Air since 2000.

Jim is a retired Professor of Epidemiology at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Public Health, where his work spans research, teaching, service, project management, and research supervision. He brings more than 25 years of experience leading funded research, managing budgets and personnel, and protecting confidential information. His core values are fairness, respect, integrity, mutual beneficence, and excellence. He has long embraced Unity principles and, since joining Unity Church of Bon Air in August 2023, has participated in prosperity class, Men of Unity, transformational opportunities speaking, and monthly kitchen service.

Director
Sharyn Mann, also known as “Sharyn from the bookstore,” has been a member of Unity for ten years. She joined after taking A Course in Miracles and has worked on various projects with the Women of Unity, as well as writing an interview column in a newsletter called “The Path."  She is retired from FedEx after 23 years. Her life motto is, “You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.” In keeping with that philosophy, she is pleased to serve on the Board and share her leadership, collaboration, organization, and administrative skills.  
Alternate
Since becoming a member of Unity Church of Bon Air in 2025, Andie has also become a Prayer Chaplain and often shares her love of music with the house band and leads Kirtan here with her musical group Rock The Mantra. Secularly, Andie is an Intuitive Counselor, Reiki Master Teacher, Yoga Instructor , Acupressurist, Medium; Professional Vocalist and recently has become a certified massage therapist. For fun, her personal interests include, but are not limited to: Motorcycles, nature, animals, hula hooping, longbow archery, throwing weapons; music; dancing...  anything that makes the heart sing.
Alternate
Lawrence grew up in Chicago, IL and graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Architecture degree.  After a career stops as an architect in San Francisco, CA, Ashland, VA and Bend, OR focusing on environmentally sound architecture, he tried to advanced human consciousness as the principal purpose of architecture -- from the inside out -- from our raised perspective to its reflection around us. He has been a member of Unity Church of Bon Air since 2024 and previously served as a board member for the Unity Community in Bend, OR.  Lawrence hopes his background as a visionary, with discernment and wisdom, may serve the UCBA community to provide governance and leadership.
Trustee
Jane is a retired educator and now spends her time tutoring chronically-ill children.

Howard is Deputy Director of Professional Services for the National Organization on Disability, and previously served on the Board from 2007 - 2010.
Trustee
Tom spent his career in advertising before retiring from the Martin Agency, and worked several years for the Virginia House of Delegates when the General Assembly was in session.
