President
Amy has a 45+ years in local government with experience in social work, executive leadership, policy writing, program implementation, budget and finance, training and staff development and risk management.
Vice President
Janet has over 30 years of experience working with individuals and families with substance use disorders, including the many co-occurring mental health disorders that are usually present. She worked as a therapist, supervisor (both clinical and administrative) and program manager for a local public program. She has attended Unity churches in Richmond for 30 years. She has volunteered for years in the Youth and Family Ministry, fellowship coffee, hospitality, and special events. Since retirement, she has also served on UCBA Board, Love in Action Board, Youth and Family Ministry, Cares team and, best of all, become a grandmother to two boys.
Treasurer
After 25 years of working in the home warranty industry, Myra retired in March of 2020. She is the proud mother of two wonderful sons and the Nano of two awesome grandsons. Myra has served previously on the Board and in many other capacities, and has attended Unity of Bon Air since 2000.
Secretary
Rev. Lisa C. Marks, M.Ed is a Religious Science Minister and Prayer Chaplain at Unity Bon Air. She is a teacher first and foremost, and has been for over 30 years, not only through the school system, but through the myriad of spiritual classes she has taught on a variety of topics. Rev Lisa is a credentialed counselor, specializing in grief and inner child work. She is a Reiki practitioner and a regressionist.
Board Member
I am a tenured Professor in the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Public Health (SPH), Department of Epidemiology. VCU is a state-sponsored nonprofit institution. My job entails research, teaching and professional service. My background spans more than 25 years of project management and research supervision in the human population sciences, and I have led numerous extramurally funded research grants with budgets that range from a few thousand to several million dollars. I have extensive experience in project management, contracting, budgetary oversight, and related duties. I am familiar with procedures for hiring and personnel management. I currently supervise 4 PhD Candidates and another 14 Masters or Undergraduate students and professional research staff. I teach graduate level courses in epidemiology. I serve on multiple VCU committees including the SPH Tenure and Promotion Committee. I am very familiar with processes and procedures for data security and protection of confidentiality among patients, human research study participants and students. My core values are: fairness, respect for others, integrity, mutual beneficence, and excellence. I strive to integrate these values into all my thoughts, words, and actions. I’ve explored many different spiritual practices and readings throughout my life including meditation, The Course In Miracles, Chi Gong, the Traceless Way and Eckhardt Tolle. I am a longtime believer in Unity principles and have been associated with the Unity church for most of my adult life, including the Unity churches of Fort Collins and Boulder, Colorado. I’ve been a member here at the Unity Church of Bon Air (UCBA) since August 2023. I recently attended a prosperity class at UCBA, and I am a member of UCBA Men of Unity, an occasional transformational opportunities speaker, and I help out in the kitchen once a month.
Board Member
As a Clinical Psychologist, Joann taught in the Psychology department at James Madison University for more than 40 years.  Joann and her husband Phil retired in 2019 and not only moved to Richmond, but moved into Rev. Joyce Fisher Pierce's former home behind the garden.  Joann serves on the CARES team, the Finance Committee and on the Garden Team with her husband Phil.

Jane is a retired educator and now spends her time tutoring chronically-ill children.

Howard is Deputy Director of Professional Services for the National Organization on Disability, and previously served on the Board from 2007 - 2010.
Trustee
Tom spent his career in advertising before retiring from the Martin Agency, and worked several years for the Virginia House of Delegates when the General Assembly was in session.
