Claudia’s lovely talk on Sunday had me thinking about our impact on others and their impact on us. When we start our day off in prayer, what we are doing is remembering the truth of who we are and choosing to be a force of love as we move through our day. It is a consent to love and a consent to receive love since love is all inextricably tied together.
Here are a few examples of how giving and receiving are bound together:
When Aronda was up front last Sunday, we thanked her for all the love she shared with us, gave her our blessings for the next part of her journey, and she thanked us for walking all these years with her.
When the men show up in the kitchen on the first Sunday to prepare our treats, they give us their love. And when they come the rest of the month, they receive the love of other fellowship teams.
When our music team moves us with lyrics, music, and love, we receive it and often get up, dance, and sing. They receive our joy and love. How cool is this?? Very cool!
I’m inviting us to notice that when we are busy loving, the universe is busy sending love our way. Maybe it’s not in the same form but giving and receiving are tied together. Let us be a resounding “yes” to love and all the mysterious ways in which it returns! Affirm, “I AM IN THE FLOW OF LOVE, AND I ENJOY GIVING AND RECEIVING THE GOOD THAT IS FLOWING EACH DAY.”
With so much love,
Rev. Patty
