Laughter Is Medicine

Laughter Is Medicine

I am enjoying Unity’s booklet, Healing A Thousand Different Ways.  Rev. Sandra Campbell is pondering the gift of laughter.  I am all in when it comes to laughter.  It soothes the soul and does many things to help our bodies.  It releases endorphins, strengthens the heart, increases oxygen intake, relaxes muscles and shifts perspective.

And that is only a few of the benefits.  We create our experiences by what we choose to think, feel and believe. Finding something to laugh about, especially ourselves, can take our mind off our pain, whether physical or emotional.  It is good medicine.  It touches the mind, the soul, and the body.

It makes sense to create laughter and fun.  One day when Bev Tinsley was working in the office, we turned on the song “What Does the Fox Say?” and danced and laughed in my office.  It’s one of my favorite memories with Bev, Kim and myself. Bev was always ready to dance at the drop of a hat!

So go ahead and phone a friend and share a joke, sing a funny tune, do some laughing yoga, watch a comedy routine and let the healing begin!

Below is a video of a comedienne I enjoy.  Watch a few healing minutes, she is a hoot.

Much love and laughter,
Rev. Patty
