My heart breaks as I hear the Middle East happenings along with Ukraine/Russia issues and other spots around the globe. It brings me back to how do I ‘be peace’ in a world of fighting? It is an important question and others are asking it.
James Twyman, who is a priest, musician and world peace promoter, and has written a book titled I Don’t Know, Maybe, I Love You, is inviting us all to move past polarity to oneness. He tells personal stories of separation falling away as love is intentionally expressed. He reminds us, “…the only thing that will matter is how we care for one another despite our differences.”
I have not read the entire book. What I have read invites us to ways of thinking and speaking that can create a space for peace amid differences. We all come with our own stories and biases, yet we do not have to be at odds. He is part of a group building a community of de-polarizing agents and coaches. The initial training is free. We can help create a vibrant world where laws of competition are replaced by acts of compassion and love. It is obvious that worldwide we still have much to learn about living together in peace. James is suggesting that it begins one conversation at a time. May we be a force of consciousness in a world awakening to the love we each are and can express simply and powerfully. Below is a beautiful song by Karen Drucker to take you to the peace within.
Peace to you and to our world,
Rev. Patty
